Our Adventures In Georgia
Georgia is one of the most beautiful states that I have ever lived or had the pleasure to do yearly visits. When we went home after Easter we were able to go on family outings to new places that we were clueless of its existence.
Over the years I have heard tons of people say that they can’t wait to move away from home; believe me I understand because I was one of them. I honestly never considered moving away from home once I came home from college, but then I met my husband who happens to be a Naval recruiter. As we all know you must go where the military sends you, which means a new place and a new adventure. When we went home for Easter we got the chance to experience a few new places with Mariah.(New to Mariah)
We visited Lane’s Southern Orchards, this place is family friendly and full of southern hospitality.
Y’all I can honestly say this is the year of the first, I don’t recall picking strawberries growing up but it was an awesome adventure for our family to do it together. Mariah caught on so quickly! She wanted to be so independent that she wouldn’t let us carry her 5 lb strawberry bucket. Surprisingly we didn’t expect her to want to pick any strawberries because it was hot and the strawberries weren’t washed, wrong! Best time ever and it will be a tradition for our family to visit everytime we are in Georgia.
Ocmulgee National Monument is a beautiful state park! This was definitely a family affair in which my in-laws all joined us for this adventure. We literally walked 3 miles through the state park and surprisingly Mariah was able to hang on for so long. She is definitely keeping things interesting! It was really nice to show Mariah and my nephews the homes of where the Indians lived and their traditions that were displayed inside of the museum.
Yesss! Y’all heard it correctly, my husband and brother in law took me paintballing at Big Indian Paintball. It was really fun and definitely a first for me. Mariah couldn’t have all of the fun. I’m not sure who really familiar with the sport but it gets really intense and we were playing against some serious competitors and the reward for winning was bragging rights. This definitely something something I want to do again minus the running.
If you ever find yourself traveling through Georgia check these places out. You won’t regret it!

Spring Time Fun With My Toddler
To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow. -Audrey Hepburn
Spring time is upon us, I know in some states it is still snowing or it’s freezing. If you your spring time hasn’t come yet, don’t lose hope because there are tons of family activities that you can do to bring in spring. So I am not the most creative person out there but I am constantly thinking up ideas that will keep my little one busy and having fun. I came up with a few ideas to have fun in the sun.
Our first Spring activity was to grow a garden, that was Mariah’s favorite part. We recently purchased a box of Cheerio’s which had a pack of seeds inside. I was like why not add this to our little garden. Having this garden has definitely been a learning experience and bonding time for our family.
Another activity is painting a canvas, no I’m not saying go out and buy a canvas. You can do some sort of activity that will be creative and fun. While Mariah was painting she became a little more creative as she decided to paint on my husband and I. So always dressed to the occasion! A course this blog is not sponsored but Michael’s usually sells a package of canvas at for as low as $10, this is when they are having some sort of monthly sale.
Bubble Bubble Bubble! Y’all when I say buying bubbles is a great investment for your toddler, it really is! They get chase bubbles and run that extra energy out, yaay! It is so cheap and affordable. Mariah even loves bubble time at the library, which brings me to reading new books.
Story time at the library is not just a spring activity but all year around. I think that it is so also to be able to teach Mariah how to act in big groups and to have fun. It is really awesome how our local library does sing a longs, reading time and arts & crafts all under an hour. This is definitely something the sahm(stay at home mom) should consider. The other day we had a jammed packed day of visiting the library, grocery shopping at three different stores, movie and bubble time; after all of that she was ready for a nap.
I hope that you all have a wonderful and fulfilling spring!
